Wednesday 1st May, London, UK: Pinarello today celebrates one year of the latest addition to the iconic Pinarello Dogma family: the F12. Unveiled ahead of the Tour de Yorkshire on 1st May 2019, the Italian brand’s flagship race bike shares its first birthday with its long-standing WorldTour partner, Team INEOS, who revealed its new title sponsor, taking over from Sky, on the same day.

Within its first week of public appearance, the Dogma F12 helped Chris Lawless to victory, as he became the first Briton to win the men’s Tour de Yorkshire, securing a debut win for Team INEOS. Since then, the F12 has gone on to achieve 23 further victories with Team INEOS, including five General Classifications, two one-day races, one points jersey, seven youth jerseys, a KOM jersey, and eight stage wins.

Most memorably, Egan Bernal rode Pinarello to its 15th Tour de France GC on the Dogma F12 in July 2019, becoming the youngest cyclist in more than 100 years to do so, and securing the seventh Dogma TdF win for Team INEOS. Following tradition, a special edition custom-painted yellow Dogma F12 was created for Bernal to ride down the Champs-Élysées, signed by Fausto Pinarello himself.

Continuing the aerodynamic evolution of the Pinarello racing bike while retaining its signature asymmetric design, the F12 delivers a drag reduction of 7.3% compared to its predecessor, the F10, which translates to a saving of 8 watts at 40kmh – making it one of the fastest bikes in history.

Alongside the Dogma F12, Pinarello launched the Dogma F12 Disk and the weight-saving Dogma F12 XLight, in both Rim and Disk variations, weighing just 740 grams in a size 53.

While a number of road races have been postponed this season due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Team INEOS riders continue to individually prepare for the return of racing, and the return of the F12 to the pro-racing scene.

CEO of Cicli Pinarello, Fausto Pinarello said: “The Dogma F12 is just one year old and has immediately broken down barriers, as well as being custom-painted in yellow thanks to Team INEOS, with the fantastic Egan Bernal winning the Tour de France. The successful debut confirmed that all the efforts we put into the bike’s development were worth it. The Dogma F12 remains one of the most desirable bikes on the market.”
